Creative drama in the post-pandemic classroom is an Erasmus+ project carried out by four schools from Poland, Turkey, Holland and Latvia whose goal is to raise awareness of young people about their mental well-being and to minimize the effects of the pandemic on the students.
Project objectives
Our aim was to raise national and international awareness about mental well-being, low proficiency in basic skills, learning disadvantage and lack of key competences among young people in the post-pandemic classroom. These problems increased during the pandemic and remote learning and the students need to be equipped with skills and competences how to minimize its effects and with tools how to deal with stressful situations and how to tackle with learning disadvantage.
Implementation
We implemented different kind of activities: international project meetings; online trainings for teachers; creative drama workshops for students; coaching sessions; training of learning strategies and mindfulness in the classroom for teachers. As a part of dissemination of project results we organized a free and commonly available teachers conference with the purpose of how to implement creative drama techniques in the post-pandemic classroom.
Results
Our main project results is a teacher's guide consisting of items that show creative drama forms and techniques, mindfulness activities, feedback and evaluation tasks of how to deal with anxiety, to relax, to socialize, to communicate, to practice key competences. The project tool kit is a set of cards we developed during the project, aimed at both teachers and students.
